The weeks and months ahead will be very difficult, a very difficult time for our nation – perhaps the most difficult of this whole pandemic. I know it’s hard to hear, but it’s the truth. We may not see any improvement until the end of March, as it will take time for our Covid response plan to start producing visible progress. So the Trump administration’s plan to distribute vaccines is lagging behind – far behind. We are grateful to the companies, physicians, scientists, researchers and participants in Operation Warp Speed clinical trials for rapidly developing the vaccines. But as I have feared and warned for a long time, the effort to distribute and administer the vaccine is not progressing as it should. A few weeks ago, the Trump administration suggested that 20 million Americans could be vaccinated by the end of December. There are only a few days left in December, we have only vaccinated a few million so far, and the pace of the vaccination, the vaccination schedule, is changing now – as it continues to change as it is. case now – it’s going to take years, not months, to vaccinate the American people. It will be the greatest operational challenge we have ever faced as a nation. But we will get there.
