Obama campaigns for Biden, slams on dealing with pandemic

Former President Barack Obama delivered remarks in Orlando, Florida on behalf of Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Tuesday and criticized the White House’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Black unemployment hit nearly 17% during the Great Recession 10 years ago. And through a lot of hard work, Joe Biden and I helped bring him down. More than 225,000 people in this country have died, more than 100,000 small businesses have closed. Half a million jobs have disappeared in Florida alone. Think about it. And what, what’s his final point – that people are too focused on Covid? He said this at one of his rallies. Covid, Covid, Covid he complains. He is jealous of the media coverage of Covid. His chief of staff, on a news program, said, “We are not going to control the pandemic.” He just said this. Yes he did. And yes, we noticed it, you are not going to control the pandemic. Listen, winter is coming. They wave the white flag of surrender. Here is the truth. The pandemic would have been difficult for any president. But the idea that somehow this White House did anything but screw this thing up completely is absurd.

Trump’s behavior is worse than ‘Florida Man’, says Obama in Miami

Former President Barack Obama criticized President Trump’s conduct and history in promoting conspiracy theories and disinformation at a rally in Miami.

“With Joe and Kamala at the helm, you won’t have to think about it every day. There may be an entire day that they will not be on TV. “You will be able to live your life knowing that the president will not offer to inject bleach. Or retweet the conspiracy theories about the secret cabals that run the world. Or by saying that – or by retweeting that l claim that the Navy SEALs didn’t actually kill Bin Laden. We’re not going to have a president who goes out of his way to insult anyone he doesn’t think is nice enough to him. We won’t have a president who would threaten people with jail for just criticizing him. This is not normal behavior in Florida. You wouldn’t tolerate it from a coworker, you wouldn’t tolerate it from a high school principal , you wouldn’t tolerate it from a coach, you wouldn’t tolerate it from a family member. “Florida Man” wouldn’t even do that. Why do we accept it from the President of the United States? is not – This is not normal behavior. And you shake your head and you think, “Well, you know z what, it’s just him ”, but there are consequences to that. There are consequences when a president behaves this way. It encourages others to be mean and cruel, divisive and racist. When you have a president who can’t – can’t call or even criticize white supremacists, that’s a problem! “
